Mark Besancon DVM

A Texas native, Dr. Mark Besancon was born in Falfurrias and lived in Hebbronville for 11 years before moving to Beeville in 1990. After graduating from A.C. Jones High School, Dr. Mark attended Texas A&M – Kingsville and was later accepted to Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine. He graduated from veterinary school in 2005 and returned to Beeville to practice at a mixed animal hospital. Dr. Mark married Victoria native, Magen Kasper, shortly after graduating from veterinary school and they moved to Victoria in 2007 where he joined a local small animal practice.
In September 2009, Dr. Mark opened Crossroads Veterinary Clinic in partnership with Dr. Sam Williams to offer both small and large animal services to the Golden Crescent area.
In January 2012, Dr. Mark launched the MB Spinal Brace that he designed and patented to aid in the medical treatment of back injuries in dogs. He has since designed the Leash EZ–Universal Leash Holder which serves as a leash holding device for dogs. He continues to design products for the animal industry and works with veterinary distributing companies including Jorgensen Laboratories to market and sell his products.
In December 2018, Dr. Mark started Besancon Innovations, a company that focuses on innovating new products, ideas and procedures that will improve all aspects of animal and human life. His mission is to innovate, create and educate.
In April 2019, Dr. Mark became the sole owner of Crossroads Veterinary Clinic and continues to offer high quality small animal services to the local and surrounding areas.
Dr. Mark is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), Texas Veterinary Medical Association (TVMA), and is the secretary for the local Golden Crescent Veterinary Medical Association (GCVMA).
Dr. Mark and Magen have made Victoria their home along with their sons Kyler and Logan and three schnauzers Zoey, Copi and Jake.
In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, innovating new ideas, welding and construction projects and traveling.


Jenna Janak

Jenna was born in Victoria, Texas, and raised in the Mission Valley and Nursery area. She was an active member of the Spring Creek 4-H club where she raised and showed lambs and steers for 8 years. She is certified and accredited in animal behavior and enjoys training obedience and bird hunting dogs. Jenna has made Victoria her home along with her two daughters Nora and Finley. In her free time she enjoys running, fishing, and spending time with her daughters, especially attending their gymnastics meets

Kelly Vickery

Kelly was raised in Port Lavaca, Texas and graduated from Calhoun High School. She graduated with a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration from the University of Houston-Victoria. After graduating from college, she pursued a 1000 hour internship and coursework in Long-Term Care Administration at Delmar Community College in Corpus Christi. Upon completion of the program, she obtained her license as a Long-Term Care Administrator through the Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services. Kelly has always had a passion for helping others and knew she would accomplish this through the care of animals. Kelly loves spending time with her two sons-Kyler and Kent-as well as her dog Chica. In her free time, she enjoys scrapbooking, miniatures, genealogy and traveling.

Susan Melvin

Susan was born and raised in the suburbs outside Kansas City. A love of the Gulf and year-round warm weather brought her to Victoria in 2013. She brings years of bookkeeping and customer service experience and a genuine interest and love of animals to CVC. When possible, she spends as much time as she can at the beach, live music festivals, reading, and exploring previously untraveled roads.


Melody Greene

Melody was raised in Victoria, Tx. After graduating high school, she attended University of Houston -Victoria and studied early Childhood Education. She quickly realized that was not her passion and in 2012 started working for a veterinary practice in Victoria, Tx. In July of 2014, she joined the Crossroads Veterinary Clinic team as a receptionist. She loves working with animals and seeing all that goes on within the veterinary hospital. When not at CVC, Melody enjoys raising her two beautiful daughters, Marley and Olivia, and spending time with her handsome dogs Ben and Rocky.

Nita Rivas

Nita was born and raised in Beeville, Texas. She graduated from A.C. Jones High School and later attended Coastal Bend College where she received her Cosmetology License In 2011. In 2008, she started working at South Texas Veterinary Clinic, starting out in kennels, then small animal technician and receptionist. She now resides here in Victoria, Texas with Her husband Andrew, two daughters Giuliana and Carleigh, and 2 pretty awesome fur babies Bane and K-9 Ares. She loves working with animals, spending time with family and friends, scrapbooking, antiquing, and sometimes hunting and fishing.

Stacy Crabb

Stacy was born and raised in Victoria, Texas. She has worked in the Veterinary field for over 11 years. In that time, she has worn several different hats from office manager to technician, but has settled in quite nicely as a receptionist. She met her husband, Justin, in Texas but moved to Cape Cod when he was transferred by the Coast Guard. They returned to Texas as soon as possible to raise their family closer to her family. Together, they have a beautiful daughter & son. They have three dogs; Norma Jeane, Ariah and Dierks, and three cats; Nala, Harley and Izzie. During her spare time she enjoys spending it with family and friends, shopping and working out.

Megan Espinosa

Megan was born in Port Lavaca and graduated from Calhoun High School. She now resides in Victoria and is a proud mother to her son Matthew. In her spare time, she loves being with family and friends. She also loves spending time with her two fur babies, Gemma and Mavis. Megan has always had a soft spot for animals, and enjoys her position as a receptionist on the Crossroads Veterinary Clinic team.

Jamie Estrada

Jamie was born and raised in Victoria, Texas. She found her love for animals while showing livestock animals for 4H. She has joined the Crossroads Veterinary Clinic team as a receptionist, and enjoys learning and helping in all parts of the clinic. When not at work she enjoys spending time with her husband Jonathan, and their two beautiful children, Kaden and Elena. They also have two fur babies named Gato and Austin.


Cody Loest

Cody was born and raised in Victoria. He has always had a great passion for animals. Cody was a member of the 4H club and participated in livestock shows across the Golden Crescent. He also volunteered and worked at a zoo where he gained lots of experience with multiple species. Cody and his family are supporters of the Victoria Livestock Show and volunteer for it every year. Being an animal lover, Cody has rescued four dogs, and also has a pet snake. Cody has been a veterinary technician for several years and enjoys his job. He believes that it is very rewarding to see happy owners with their happy pets, and loves taking care of all the fur-babies.

Shelby Williams

Shelby started her vet career in Washington State where she attended Pima Medical Institute to become a certified Vet Assistant. After spending four years in Washington State, she moved to Victoria Texas to live closer to family. She now lives with her fiancé, son, and her four rescue pit bulls. In her free time, she enjoys riding horses, fishing, and spending time with her little boy!

Michelle Riza

Michelle was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. She moved to Victoria a year ago to be with her husband. She has over 12 years of experience as a vet tech and has a passion for all pets. On her days off she enjoys country/salsa dancing, spending time outdoors and spending time with family.

Barry Romano

Barry was born in Tegucigalpa, Honduras and later moved to Victoria, TX. Barry has a beautiful wife and three handsome boys. He enjoys going to the gym, being a dad and caring for his exotic animals. Barry knew his love for animals and decided to join the Crossroads Veterinary Clinic team in 2014 as a vet tech. Barry has a passion for all animals, but especially reptiles. He loves educating others on reptiles and hopes to bring more knowledge to the hobby.

Jennifer Buck

Jennifer was born and raised in Denham Springs, LA. She has been working in the veterinary field for four years as a vet tech. Jennifer recently moved to Victoria with her boyfriend, Casey, for job relocation. She enjoys spending time with friends and family, going to the gym, and playing with her two dogs.

Victoria Janak

Victoria was born and raised in Houston, Texas. She attended Texas State University where she majored in Animal Science and later went to work for Blue Creek Whitetails in El Campo, Texas where she was the Herd Health Manager. After two years of working with deer, she chose to move to Victoria, Texas to extend her education working with small animals. Her passion for animals and the outdoors have been instilled in her since she was born and with her family being from Victoria, Texas it was only natural for her to move to this area. When she is not working, she enjoys hunting and spending time with her family and dog, Shiner.


Kristina Brandl

Kristina was born and raised in Victoria, Texas. She grew up farming and ranching where she found her love for animals and outdoor. Together with her husband, they run a farming business. In her spare time she enjoys hunting, and fishing.


Jennifer DiSilvestro

Jennifer is a Texas transplant. She moved here from Kentucky in 1995 and has been here ever since. She has been working in the Veterinary profession for over 12 years and enjoys her job as the Pharmacy Technician. She is the proud Mom of two children, as well as “mom” to a rescue cat named Tuck, and a crazy husky named Pike. Her hobbies include spending time with family, writing, going to church and trying to keep up with her granddaughter.


Austin Beadles

Austin was born and raised in the vast and breathtaking city of Dallas, Tx. He moved to Frisco, Tx during high school and it was there that he found the love of his life Keri. His life will forever be changed by a bringing together of two souls in that FFA ag barn. Since that day, they have moved to many different locations with many different animals. They have been blessed with a plethora of animals of varying shapes and sizes. Austin and Keri have now entered into the world of two legged critters and are enjoying the ride immensely. He has had many jobs but none he was so fond of as the veterinary field. He has deeply enjoyed over thirteen years of working with animals (that’s almost 2 dog years). They decided to set their roots down in the culturally diverse and uniquely quaint town of Victoria. Shortly after arriving in the crossroads, Austin got the chance of lifetime to work for a budding new business with big dreams for the future. CVC was just in its adolescence at the time. Austin was extremely pleased to work with a team from the ground up. Helping animals has always been in the fore front of his mind. CVC has given him the avenue in which to fulfill his dreams.

Michelle Allen

Michelle was born in Kentucky and has lived in Texas since she was three. She’s been married since 2009 and two daughters. She and her family live in Victoria with their three dogs and eight cats. In her free time she enjoys reading, crocheting, gardening, and art.

Heidi Shook

Heidi has been with her husband for 15 years. They moved to Victoria 14 years ago, and they have two dogs. Her hobbies include photography, working out, and riding motorcycles.


Veronica Hathaway

Veronica was born and raised in Mission, Texas. She has been married to her husband for 8 years and they have 2 wonderful children. Veronica has 4 dogs and 2 cats. She has a passion for caring for animals and has worked in the veterinary field for 8 years. On her free time, she loves to spend time with her family and cook.

Caitlyn Marie

Caitlyn was born and raised in Cuero, Texas. She has been in the veterinary field for 5 years. She helps run our boarding department, but also helps as a vet technician. She has two Jack Russell’s. In her spare time, she enjoys fishing, hunting, and being with friends and family.
