Mark Besancon DVM – Small Animal Veterinarian-Owner

A Texas native, Dr. Mark Besancon was born in Falfurrias and lived in Hebbronville for 11 years before moving to Beeville in 1990.
After graduating from high school, Dr. Mark attended Texas A&M – Kingsville and was later accepted to Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Mark graduated from Veterinary school in 2005 and returned to Beeville to work at a mixed animal practice.
Dr. Mark met and married Victoria native, Magen Kasper, shortly after Veterinary School. After 2 years of practicing in Beeville, Dr. Mark moved to Victoria and joined a local small animal practice, where he practiced for 2 years.
In September 2009, Dr. Mark opened Crossroads Veterinary Clinic in partnership with Dr. Sam Williams. In January 2012, he launched the MB Spinal Brace that he designed and patented to aid in the medical treatment of back injuries in dogs. He has since designed the Leash EZ Holder Universal Leash Holder and EZ Squeeze Restraint Device which both serve as restraint devices for dogs. He works with Jorgensen Laboratories Inc., a veterinary distributing company to market and sell his products.
Dr. Mark is a member of the AVMA, TVMA, and is the secretary for the local GCVMA.
Dr. Mark and Magen have made Victoria their home along with their son Kyler and three Schnauzers: Zoey, Copi, Jake and Black Lab: Gage. In his free time, Dr. Mark enjoys spending time with his family, welding, saltwater fishing and traveling.


Sam Williams DVM – Large Animal Veterinarian-Owner

Dr. Sam Williams hails from the northern hill country town of Lampasas, Texas. Growing up and working on the family ranch helped to develop his interest in veterinary medicine.
After pursuing undergraduate and graduate degrees from Texas A&M University, Dr. Williams graduated from Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine in 2003. After graduation Dr. Williams moved to Beeville, working as an associate for 6 years before opening Crossroads Veterinary Clinic with Dr. Mark Besancon in 2009.
His special interests are in equine reproduction, dentistry, lameness, and general medicine and surgery. Dr. Williams is an active member of the American Association of Equine Practitioners and the American Veterinary Medical Association. In his free time, he enjoys fishing, hunting, and traveling.




Paul Daniel DVM – Associate Large Animal Veterinarian

Dr. Paul is a native to Victoria and graduated from St. Joseph High School. In 2011, he received a bachelor’s of science in Biology and graduated in 2016 as a DVM from Texas A&M. Dr. Paul is a member of the American Association of Bovine Practitioners, American Association of Equine Practitioners, AVMA, and TVMA. He enjoys hunting, fishing, Aggie football and spending time with his family. Dr. Paul is excited to be working in Victoria and surrounding counties, serving members in the community where he grew up.



Jenna Janak – Small Animal Hospital Manager

Jenna was born in Victoria, Texas, and raised in the Mission Valley and Nursery area.  She was an active member of the Spring Creek 4-H club where she raised and showed lambs and steers for 8 years. She is certified and accredited in animal behavior and enjoys training obedience and bird hunting dogs. Jenna has made Victoria her home along with her husband Jeremy and two daughters, Nora and Finley. In her free time she enjoys running, fishing, and spending time with her daughters, especially attending their gymnastics meets.


Kelly Vickery – Office Manager

Kelly was raised in Port Lavaca, Texas and graduated from Calhoun High School. She graduated with a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration from the University of Houston-Victoria. After graduating from college, she pursued a 1000 hour internship and coursework in Long-Term Care Administration at Delmar Community College in Corpus Christi. Upon completion of the program, she obtained her license as a Long-Term Care Administrator through the Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services. Kelly has always had a passion for helping others and knew she would accomplish this through the care of animals. Kelly loves spending time with her two sons-Kyler and Kent-as well as her dog Chica. In her free time, she enjoys scrapbooking, miniatures, genealogy and traveling.


Susan Melvin – Office Manager

Susan was born and raised in the suburbs outside Kansas City. A love of the Gulf and year-round warm weather brought her to Victoria in 2013. She brings years of bookkeeping and customer service experience and a genuine interest and love of animals to CVC. When possible, she spends as much time as she can at the beach, live music festivals, reading, and exploring previously untraveled roads.



Melody Greene – Receptionist

Melody-GreeneMelody was born in Bryan Texas and raised in Victoria Texas. She is a Memorial High 2009 graduate and attended the University of Houston-Victoria the following four years. She has two mixed breed dogs, Ben and Rocky, that she adores. She married her husband, Lance, in 2014 and they have two daughters together. She loves spending time with family and enjoying life.


Brittany Noack – Receptionist

Brittany-NoackBrittany was raised in Inez, Texas, graduated from St. Joseph High School in 2011, and currently attends Victoria College. She was an active member of the Wood-Hi 4H club where she raised and showed carcass steers and heifers for 10 years. She currently lives in Inez with her husband, Kyle, and her boxer, Sadie. She loves spending time with family and being outdoors.


Nita Rivas – Receptionist

Nita-RivasNita was born and raised in Beeville, Texas. She graduated from A.C. Jones High School and later attended Coastal Bend College where she received her Cosmetology License. In 2008, she started working at South Texas Veterinary Clinic in Beeville as a technician and receptionist. She now resides in Victoria, Texas with her fiance’ Andrew and 3 year old daughter Giuliana. She loves working with animals, spending time with family, reading and scrapbooking, and at times, hunting and fishing.


Jennifer DiSilvestro – Receptionist

Jennifer-DiSilvestroJennifer is a Texas transplant. She moved here from Kentucky in 1995 and has been here ever since. She has been through several different careers from teaching high school history classes, to education curator at the Texas Zoo, to working in the Veterinary profession for over 10 years. She enjoys her job as a receptionist and loves to bring a smile to all the clients she encounters. She is willing to help in all areas and has a true love for all animals. She is the proud Mom of two children, Jessica and Richard, and her rescue cat, Tuck. Her hobbies include spending time with family, serving on the children’s council at her church and studying for her master’s, along with following God’s lead in being the best person possible.


Stacy Crabb – Receptionist

Stacy-Crabb Stacy was born and raised in Victoria, Texas. She has worked in the Veterinary field for over 11 years. In that time, she has worn several different hats from office manager to technician, but has settled in quite nicely as a receptionist. She met her husband, Justin, in Texas but moved to Cape Cod when he was transferred by the Coast Guard. They returned to Texas as soon as possible to raise their family closer to her family. Together, they have a beautiful daughter named Autumn. They have three dogs; Norma Jeane, Ariah and Jackson, and three cats; Nala, Harley and Izzie. During her spare time she enjoys spending it with family and friends, shopping and working out.


Brenda Smith – Receptionist

Brenda-SmithBrenda was born in Norman, Oklahoma and raised in a small town about 10 miles from there. Brenda and her husband Don recently relocated to Victoria, but have lived all over the southwest. They have been married for almost 33 years and have 3 grown daughters, Jessica, Lauren and Dawn, as well as, two 10-year old Great Pyrenees, Molly and Ike. Brenda spent her early career working in mental health, however, she found her true calling, blending her love for animals and desire to provide “world class customer service”, as a receptionist in veterinary clinics. Brenda and her husband enjoy traveling, camping and almost any outdoor activity.


Cody Loest – Technician

Cody-LoestCody was born and raised in Victoria County. He grew up living and working with all types of animals including exotics, domestic pets, and livestock which he entered in several local shows. After graduating from St. Joseph High School in 2010, Cody has been taking classes at Victoria College and doing what he loves; working with animals!


Leah Sparks – Technician

Leah-Sparks Leah was raised in Long Mott, Texas. She is a recent graduate from Calhoun High School, and now attends The Victoria College. She loves being around animals and enjoys the company of her own. She has two dogs, Boss and Bruiser, and also raises guineas and peacocks. She loves spending time with her family and being outdoors, so you can find her hunting or fishing in her spare time.


Chelsie Arriaga – Technician

Chelsie-Arriaga Chelsie grew up in Refugio, Texas where she graduated high school in 2010. Chelsie and her husband Ryan live in Inez with their 3 dogs: Cayson, Kylie, and Kade. Chelsie has been in the veterinary field since 2011, and loves working with animals. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends and being outdoors.

Tommy Hathaway – Technician

Tommy-HathawayTommy is from Beeville, Texas and has been in the veterinary field since 2005. He is a United States Marine Corps veteran where he served as a Military Police Officer. He is married with 2 children, 4 dogs and 2 cats. His hobbies are sports, fishing, spending time with family, and saving lives.

Carley Stringo – Technician

Carley-Stringo Carley is from Port Lavaca, Texas. She attended Calhoun High School and graduated from Victoria College with and Associate of Science degree. She married her husband Drake in 2013 and they have 2 daughters together. She also has 2 dogs, an English Mastiff and a Red Heeler. In her free time she volunteers at the Calhoun Humane Society and enjoys spending time with her family.


Heidi Shook – Technician

Austin Beadles – Surgery Technician

A Texas native, Austin was born and raised in Dallas and moved to Frisco during high school. His senior year he decided to get into the Boer goat business and now raises show and breeding stock. He has made Victoria his home along with his wife, Keri, and together they spend much of their free time showing goats all over America and participating in artificial insemination and embryo transfer. Austin previously worked in a 7 doctor small animal practice in Frisco, Texas, for 3 years where he was a technician. They currently have 4 dogs: Emory, a Blue Heeler, Waco, a Red Border Collie, Vic, a Great Pyrenees Mix, and Kati, an American Cocker Spaniel. Along with the dogs they also have an indoor cat, 380, a calico domestic longhair.


Michelle Allen – Surgery Technician

Michelle-Allen Michelle was born in Kentucky and grew up in Goliad, Texas on a small farm with cattle, horses, chickens, dogs and cats. She was also active in 4-H showing rabbits and goats. In 2002 she graduated from high school and later went on to Coastal Bend College in Beeville where she studied art. In 2006 she began working as a veterinary technician in Beeville. She now resides in Victoria with her husband, Steve. In her free time she enjoys reading, painting, gardening and spending time with her pets.


Alex Cano – Surgery Technician

Alex-CanoAlex was born and raised in Victoria. She graduated from Victoria West in 2013 with her cosmetology license and has been cutting hair ever since. She is now a surgery tech at the clinic and loves what she does. She has a passion for working with exotic animals, especially reptiles; she is fascinated by each animals unique way of living and enjoys studying them in her free time. She does have 5 dogs of her own; a pit bull named Benny, a husky named Nala, two German Shepherd mix, one named Blue, one named MJ, and a jack russell terrier named Heidi. Alex enjoys spending quality time with her boyfriend named Barry, also a vet tech, and his two children Donovan and Liam. Whether it’s just being at home watching a movie or going to the park to play, she loves them all very much. Alex plans to gain even more knowledge and pursue her career in working with exotic animals.


Sarah Heller – Boarding Technician

Sarah-HellerSarah was born in Cuero Texas. She was a member of Nursery 4H for 7 years where she showed pigs. Sarah graduated from West High School in 2012 and is now attending college to pursue her business degree. Sarah enjoys spending time with her family and dog, Bonnie. Her hobbies include going to the beach, playing softball and cooking.

Marie Johnson – Large Animal Receptionist

Marie-JohnsonMarie moved to Victoria in 1995 from California with her husband Scott, who was in the Marine Corps. They decided to plant their roots here in Victoria and start a family. Marie has experience as a small animal technician, feed store manager, and now has joined our CVC large animal team. She was an avid horseman which included hunter jumper, English, barrel racing and trail. Her extra time now is spent with her two sons showing and raising cattle for 4H and FFA. She loves the outdoors. Marie never has a bad day, always happy to help and serve our customers with any of their large animal needs.


Jaimye Aiken – Large Animal Technician

JaymieJaimye has been part of the CVC team since the doors opened in 2009. She started her career in the veterinary field in 1998, certified Veterinary Assistant and a USDA EIA lab technician. Her passion for animals has been long lasting, ranging from wildlife to domestic. She enjoys horseback riding, the outdoors and spending time with her two children, family and friends. Jaimye is devoted to her career and takes pride in every aspect of her work. We love her energy and her smile, as it is as big as her dedication to CVC customers.


Bubba Brown – Large Animal Technician

Bubba has been part of the CVC team since 2010. Bubba’s skill with large animals has made him a valuable asset to our clinic. He ensures all large animals receive the highest level of care. His days off are spent calf roping and spending time outdoors. You will never see Bubba without a laugh and a smile. It’s definitely contagious.


Kaitlyn Bleier – Large Animal Technician

Kaitlyn grew up in Schroeder, Texas. She graduated from Goliad High School in 2012, then attended Houston Baptist University Bryan/College Station, playing volleyball and studying psychology. She moved back to Victoria and is now pursuing her Business Management degree at the University of Houston-Victoria. Kaitlyn has a very confident personality, is eager to learn and definitely fun to be around. Her passion for all animals continues to grow her skills as a technician. In her past days, she showed horses in halter and reining. Now in her spare time she is studying and hanging out with her canine best friend, Griffin, who, despite his name, is actually a Hufflepuff like Kaitlyn. Kaitlyn is an avid reader and Netflix binger with a love for pizza and wine. You can’t miss her smile.


Kasey Innocenti – Large Animal Technician

Kasey was born and raised in Victoria Texas. She has a passion for horses and participated in competitive barrel racing and trail. Her family has been involved with horses her whole life. As a large animal technician here at CVC, she works with not only horses, but cattle, goats, pigs, driving equipment and assisting in the lab.
In her spare time, she will catch a game of pool with friends, ride horses and enjoys fishing. She has a fiery personality with a tender heart. Here at CVC, Kasey is always ready to crack a joke and lend a hand to get things done.


Ralph Postell – Large Animal Technician

Ralph was born in Canyon Lake Texas and then moved to Corpus Christi Texas. He spent 4 years in the Army as a sergeant. He married his wife Ella, had 5 children, 1 grandchild and moved to Goliad, Texas in 2010. Ralph is a man of all trades. Truck driver, field mechanic, even underwater welder. He now has joined the team at CVC as a large animal technician as well as our “fix it” Ralph. There isn’t anything, around the clinic that he can’t repair.
In his spare time, he loves to fish and compete in circle car racing. He has donkeys, chickens, dogs and cats on his small ranch in Goliad.
Ralph is our big guy with a giant heart for our CVC patients.


Jordan Goodner – Large Animal Technician

Jordan is a native Victorian who has a strong passion for animals. She loves everything in this field, from receptionist, caring for the livestock and being a technician. Jordan also spends time working for a private ranch caring for horses and white tail deer, broadening her knowledge and skill sets. Her hobbies in her spare time consist of competitive barrel racing, training horses and enjoying her dogs. When any “baby” livestock are in our clinic, you can guarantee you will see Jordan.



Beatrice DeLeon – Custodian

Beatrice is a native Victorian with her husband Alfredo. She joined our team in 2009 and is our “shining” star. It has always been very important to her that the clients come into a clean environment. We all so appreciate her and all she does. She has 5 children and 7 grandchildren. Her spare time, joy and happiness is spent fishing with her grandchildren. It makes her smile to see them catch fish. Beatrice is behind the scenes here at CVC, but you always know she has been there.
