Dr. Mark Besancon

Small Animal Veterinarian

A Texas native, Dr. Mark Besancon was born in Falfurrias and lived in Hebbronville for 11 years before moving to Beeville in 1990.
After graduating from high school, Dr. Mark attended Texas A&M – Kingsville and was later accepted to Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Mark graduated from Veterinary school in 2005 and returned to Beeville to work at a mixed animal practice.
Dr. Mark met and married Victoria native, Magen Kasper, shortly after Veterinary School. After 2 years of practicing in Beeville, Dr. Mark moved to Victoria and joined a local small animal practice, where he practiced for 2 years.
In September 2009, Dr. Mark opened Crossroads Veterinary Clinic in partnership with Dr. Sam Williams. In January 2012, he launched the MB Spinal Brace that he designed and patented to aid in the medical treatment of back injuries in dogs. He has since designed the Leash EZ – Universal Leash Holder which serves as a leash holding device for dogs. He works with a veterinary distributing company, Jorgensen Laboratories Inc., to market and sell his products.
In December 2018, Dr. Mark started Besancon Innovations, a company that focuses on bringing new ideas and procedures to reality. His mission is to create and help others create and innovate products that will improve all aspects of animal and human life.
Dr. Mark is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), Texas Veterinary Medical Association (TVMA), and is the secretary for the local Golden Crescent Veterinary Medical Association (GCVMA).
Dr. Mark and Magen have made Victoria their home along with their sons Kyler and Logan and three Schnauzers Zoey, Copi and Jake. In his free time, Dr. Mark enjoys spending time with his family, innovating new ideas, welding and construction projects and traveling.
