Dr. Mark Besancon

Small Animal Veterinarian

A Texas native, Dr. Mark Besancon was born in Falfurrias and lived in Hebbronville for 11 years before moving to Beeville in 1990. After graduating from A.C. Jones High School, Dr. Mark attended Texas A&M – Kingsville and was later accepted to Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine. He graduated from veterinary school in 2005 and returned to Beeville to practice at a mixed animal hospital. Dr. Mark married Victoria native, Magen Kasper, shortly after graduating from veterinary school and they moved to Victoria in 2007 where he joined a local small animal practice.
In September 2009, Dr. Mark opened Crossroads Veterinary Clinic in partnership with Dr. Sam Williams to offer both small and large animal services to the Golden Crescent area.
In January 2012, Dr. Mark launched the MB Spinal Brace that he designed and patented to aid in the medical treatment of back injuries in dogs. He has since designed the Leash EZ–Universal Leash Holder which serves as a leash holding device for dogs. He continues to design products for the animal industry and works with veterinary distributing companies including Jorgensen Laboratories to market and sell his products.
In December 2018, Dr. Mark started Besancon Innovations, a company that focuses on innovating new products, ideas and procedures that will improve all aspects of animal and human life. His mission is to innovate, create and educate.
In April 2019, Dr. Mark became the sole owner of Crossroads Veterinary Clinic and continues to offer high quality small animal services to the local and surrounding areas.
Dr. Mark is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), Texas Veterinary Medical Association (TVMA), and is the secretary for the local Golden Crescent Veterinary Medical Association (GCVMA).
Dr. Mark and Magen have made Victoria their home along with their sons Kyler and Logan and three schnauzers Zoey, Copi and Jake.
In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, innovating new ideas, welding and construction projects and traveling.
